Herdade da Arcebispa
Founded in 2006 by António Manuel Valadas Palhavã and António Canivete Amante, Arcebispa owns 1600 hectares in Castelo de Arez, Alcácer do Sal. In addition to rice, forest, montado and livestock, it also bets on wine production. The first vineyard was planted in 2002 and currently the producer already has 35 hectares, where predominate red grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Aragonês, Syrah, Alicante Bouschet and Cabernet Sauvingon. The investment in the construction of the winery, located in Castelo de Arez, dates from 2014, matching with the creation of the first bottled wine, Castelo de Arez red.
