José Maria da Fonseca
Founded in 1934, it is the oldest Portuguese producer of table wines and Moscatel de Setúbal, to this day managed by the same family. Its creator, José Maria da Fonseca, was responsible for innovations such as the use of the plough, larger breaks between vineyard rows for optimal solar exposure, or the introduction of new varietals to the region, such as Castelão (or Periquita). It produces the brand labels Periquita, JMF, Alambe Ice, Domini, FSF, Hexagon, J. de José de Sousa, José de Sousa Mayor, among others.
